Kentucky Adapted Physical Education (KAPE) provides specialized physical education programs for youth with developmental, neurological, sensory, mental, orthopedic, and other types of disabilities. The program is run by the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), and Telford YMCA.
The primary mission of the Kentucky Adapted Physical Education Program is to provide an adapted physical activity program to improve physical fitness, gross motor, aquatic and recreation/leisure skills of children ages 4-18 years in Central Kentucky. Participants receive individually designed group and one-on-one instruction in aquatics, physical fitness, recreation/leisure, and gross motor skills, 90-120 minutes per week.
The KAPE 2022 session will run 8 weeks beginning February 11th, ending on April 1st.
Classes will meet each Friday evening from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Telford YMCA.
