Hello TYP family, I am Mandy Faulconer, and I am so excited to be the new Assistant Swim coach for the Telford YMCA Piranhas (TYP). I grew up in Paris Kentucky and started swimming competitively at the age of 5 for the local YMCA there. When I was 12, I started swimming for Wildcat Aquatics where I continued to swim until I was 18. I was a long-distance swimmer, and my specialty was Butterfly. In 1999 I went to College at EKU and needed a job so I applied here at the Telford YMCA and started as a lifeguard, little did I know it would forever change my life. For 15 years I worked in the Aquatics area having about every title possible. I also had the privilege to be the assistant coach for Madison Central High School for 4 years and Head Coach for 10 & under for the Berea Dolphins for several seasons. For many years I begged director after director to have a swim team at the Telford YMCA and finally someone said yes! I started the Piranhas Swim team way back when and it is very dear to my heart. I am passionate about swimming and even more passionate about coaching. I strive to not only teach the fundamentals of swimming but also to help kids develop life skills like goal setting and staying focused. As the Assistant coach I promise to have your swimmer reach their full potential by showing commitment, compassion, knowledge, and dedication to this great sport. |
